Arts Week 2022

The two weeks before the Easter holiday we held our annual Arts Week and this year the theme was All Around The World. The children explored the Arts throughout the world. During the weeks professional artists visited the school to work with the children and provide workshops linked to our theme.
The children participated in dance workshops with Hannah from Zest Dance Company learning American Swing and Lindy Hop. They had a music performance sharing songs and music from different countries from James playing brass instruments. Some children had a go at playing his instruments.
Widcombe Infant School hosted the author Jenna Herman who shared her book We Are Families featuring animals from around the world. Zosia our Forest School Practitioner led workshops with each class exploring flags and Linda worked with each class creating mosaics. The children were very proud of their finished mosaics, which will soon be displayed in our library. 
Widcombe Infant School is passionate about the Arts and all our children having a range of regular practical Art experiences.
